Quality control department

Because of the high quality requirements of IPS standard, very special attention is paid to the QC division of the Kalup Company. Some of the main activities of this department are mentioned below:

Raw Material Inspection: Including dimensional control, visual inspection, chemical analysis, and mechanical properties verification of input steel coils

Control during Production: supervising strip dimensions, examining strip edges’ quality, monitoring the welding condition, inspecting the weld seam, and the eddy current testing are some of these controls.

 

Control after Production:  Because of the high quality goal set for this department, any pipe that has not passed the previous QC controls for any reason will be separated from other pipes. The approved pipes will go through the below test routes:

 

  1. Preliminary Inspection
  2. Flattening Test
  3. Intermediate Inspection
  4. Hydro-static test
  5. Ultrasonic test for the entire weld seam, HAZ area, and pipe ends
  6. Final Inspection

During these steps, all of the requirements of the IPS standard(or any customer requirements) will be verified; if any pipe has any conflicts with this standard, it will be separated from the production route immediately for further inspections.

Customer Inspection:  This station allows a very comfortable space for the customer after all the QC stations, just before the loading zone. This space allows the costumer to verify and check any pipe that is necessary for the approval of the contract.
