Production Line:

Pipe Forming Section: this section includes Kalup’s main machinery, which consists of initial coil processing, forming, sizing, outside and inside bead removal, cut-off and run-out; this equipment was supplied by Kusakabe Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd which is a world-known supplier of equipment for ERW pipe-making plants, utilizing the latest available technology.

Underground double vertical Loopers: this type of coil storage equipment is manufactured and utilized for the first time in the world by Kalup Co. to increase the production capacity of the mill. In comparison with widely-used coil storage equipment (accumulators), this looper does not require periodic repair and maintenance or a large space for installation.

Edge Milling Machine: this equipment is able to mill the strip edges to prepare them for optimum welding quality conditions, according to the IPS standard.

Welder:  with capability to work both in induction and contact mode, this equipment (supplied by Thermatool, UK) can insert 500KW of power to weld two strip edges together.

Flash gauge: this machine is placed after the outer bead cutter, and is used to measure the thickness of the weld and determine if it is in the standard range or not.

On-Line ultrasonic testing device (Future): using this device makes it possible to detect possible flaws in the weld seam immediately after theweld, and remove the faulty pipe from the mill right away.

Annealers: two installed annealers with the accumulated power of 800KW will satisfy the requirements of the IPS standard.

Pull Out Stand: this stand is in place right after annealers, and is used to hot-work the weld zone in order to improve the weld quality.

Eddy Current Testing machine: it is able to detect possible outer weld flaws at the end of the cooling section and prevent the defective pipe from entering the finishing line.
